FINTEL Supports Earth Hour
FINTEL once again shows a genuine commitment to Wild Life and its conservation. On Thursday, 28th of February, FINTEL signed up with the Earth Hour, an initiative by the World Wild Life (WWF) Suva Office. ”The Earth Hour is a campaign to encourage businesses, communities and individuals to take the simple steps needed to cut their greenhouse emissions and become more energy efficient”, according to Ashwini Prabha the Communication Coordinator for WWF Suva.
In 2006, FINTEL sponsored the WWF Turtle Conservation program which aimed to increase public awareness of the endangered sea turtles. Now, WWF has set aside 29th March 2008, from 8pm to 9pm to take part in another conservation program. The global community will switch off their lights and any electrical apparatus for one hour to save electricity. This will eventually have a significant effect to our environment. This practice started in Sydney last year.
This is an opportunity for FINTEL to participate in a global initiative to conserve our environment.
