Service Description
'Broadband' is high speed internet access above 256kbps according to the ITU (International Telecommunications Union).
Broadband internet access is the fastest way to surf, share, download, upload and play games online. It is an 'always on' service. You don't have to dial-up each time to access the Internet. The standard dial-up Internet connection speed is about 28.8 kbps. Our Broadband access speed is Nx64 (from 256kbps, 512kbps, 1024kbps, to 2048kbps).
FINTEL is responsible for providing Internet connectivity into the heart of the Internet Backbone in the United States. With the commissioning of new state-of-the art Optic Fibre Southern Cross Cable Network , FINTEL now provides a bigger international pipe for high speed, high quality, cost effective Internet access connection in Fiji. Customers need private leased lines to connect to the FINTEL gateway or alternatively direct access can be achieved using FINTEL's VSAT Platform.
ISP's, Multinational companies, Embassies, NGOs, etc, can order links for their Fiji-based operations.
Broadband Internet Charges
NOTE
a. Wholesale Prices are applicable to licensed ISP's only.
b. Retail Prices are applicable to any customer without ISP license.
c. All prices are in Fijian Dollars.
d. All prices are Inclusive of 12.5% VAT.
e. Prices do not include local loop charges
f. Minimum Term is 12 Months.
g. Term Contract Discount: 2 to 4 years - 10%; 5 years plus - 15%.
h. Prices effective from 01 June 2008.
